Make An Appointment

There are two ways to make an appointment in the Psychology Clinic

  • Call the clinic at 505-277-5164 during office hours. During your call, you will answer a few questions with the intake staff
  • Complete Psychology Clinic Interest Form. Intake staff will call within two business days to complete a brief screening via phone or Zoom.

What can I expect during the initial screen

  • The screening will take place via videoconference (Zoom) and will take 15-20 minutes.
  • We'll ask you about your demographic details (age, race, gender, etc)
  • We'll ask you why you are coming for service now
  • We'll tell you whether there is a waitlist and how long you may have to wait for services

Clinic Policies

OUR CLINIC IS A TRAINING CLINIC

All General and Specialty Clinic services are offered by UNM Clinical Psychology doctoral students. All students are supervised by clinical psychologists from the Department of Psychology or CASAA.

CONFIDENTIALITY & PRIVACY

The Psychology Clinic maintains a strict policy of confidentiality. With very few exceptions, no information will be given to anyone outside the clinic. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call. The security and privacy of clinical records is protected by professional ethics (American Psychological Association) and federal legislation (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act; HIPAA). The clinic is bound by ethics and law to adhere to HIPAA Policies and Practices. 

YOUR RIGHTS AS A CLIENT

Ask any questions at any time, including the therapist / supervisor areas of expertise or limitations, issues relevant to your therapy, and written materials of your treatment; Negotiate/re-negotiate treatment goals; Refuse therapy / terminate at any time; Know service fees and payment method; Obtain records / request records be sent to others with your written permission; Know ethics code / contact ethics committee in the event of any grievances
