Alcohol

We believe in an individualized, collaborative approach to treatment.

Although abstinence may be the best choice for some people, moderate or social drinking may be a choice that works for others.

We will work with you to develop and work toward your own treatment goals.

Clinicians receive supervision and support in the diagnosis of alcohol-related disorders, the administration of assessments, and the use of empirically-supported therapies, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Community Reinforcement Approach, and Mindfulness-based Relapse Prevention.

We also provide help for the loved ones of individuals with substance use problems who are not ready to seek treatment for themselves.

Trainings and supervision are provided by experts at the UNM Center on Alcohol, Substance use, And Addictions (CASAA) and in the UNM Psychology Department.
